So.
Yeah.
We are now on the 4th day of June and so far I've been epic-failing in regards to CampNaNo.
Would you like to know how many words I've entered into Scrivener?
ZERO.
Yeah, that's right.
Big fat goose egg.
Why, you ask?
A combination of laziness and a headache. Let's be honest...it's mostly laziness.
Please feel free to start scolding/shaming me.
I deserve it.

The PLAN...or lack of one.
Okay, so tomorrow starts CampNaNoWriMo.
And I'm scared.
When I did NaNo in November, I had a PLAN. I had an outline. I had IDEAS.
Right now, all I have is ideas. Small ones. And since I can't decide on which one I really want to work on, I have decided that June shall be the month of word-vomit.
I have three book ideas that need to become three rough-drafts.
Supervillian
Rosefield
Forgotten.
The plan for this month is to write AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE for each of these books each day until I'm bleeding onto the page.
As mentioned, I'm going to try to post my wordcounts daily for each title. (or at least, the wordcount I'm UP TO each day for that title...I'm still figuring out Scrivener).
So wish me luck world.
I'll see you on the other side.
Love ya!

So...5day50k was a wash, but no matter!
...I'm going to be participating in June's Camp NaNoWriMo instead. I'm hoping that this will help me get my butt in gear, as I've been such a slacker lately.
I'll be posting my wordcount daily on this blog, starting Friday (possibly Saturday...I might be posting my wordcount the day after, just in case I get all crazy writing in the middle of the night) so stay tuned!
All encouragement is welcome.
Please let me know if you're participating too. I love to talk to people about the writing process.
Love ya!

5 day 50k
So, as I'm waiting for my beta-readers to get back to me, I've decided it's time to bit the bullet and get back into actually WRITING.
It's shameful how little writing I've actually done lately.
So since it happens to be a Monday today, I'm going to attempt to do something that will probably kick my ass....
5 day 50k.
Look, I know it's crazy. I KNOW.
But when I tallied up the numbers I realized that I actually wrote my NaNo novel in 9 days (because I am Miss Slacky McSlacker and procrastination is my middle name...making me Miss Slacky Procrastination McSlacker...my parents were not kind) and, to be quite honest, the shiny warm feeling of actually FINISHING a draft has sort of faded since the end of November.
I miss that feeling people.
So over the next 5 days (Monday May 14 to Friday May 18) I'm going to try to churn out 10k a day, hopefully finishing another draft at the end of the day on Friday.
Pray for me.

In which I realize "Editing" is going to be a lot more like "Re-writing"
*headdesk*
Okay, I understand the point of NaNoWriMo was to get a rough draft done super-quickly, and it was great for that, don't get me wrong.
But dear fluffy lord my manuscript needs a lot of work. I read through the first 75 pages last night and I have come to realize that the "editing" I forsaw in my future is really a lot of "re-writing".
I still love my story and my characters, but there is SO MUCH DETAIL missing from my story that it was driving me nuts.
So basically what I got out of NaNo was less of a first draft (though I'm still going to be calling it that because it makes me feel all ACCOMPLISHED and stuff) and more of a really fleshed-out outline.
Writers, does this ever happen to you? What do you do when you have the first-draft-rewriting-blues?
...I need ALL the help I can get, especially since re-writes are going to take a lot of time and I'm easily distracted by shiny thi---Oooh SHINY!
